…the salt-cured olives? They are still a little bitter. I thought they'd be cured ages ago. Maybe leaving them out in the cold is slowing down the curing process.
…the limoncello? I finally got around to straining the lemon peels this weekend. After mixing it with sugar syrup, we declared it to be "Yummy!" Possible dessert tonight will be a piece of the not-so-great mystery citrus bread soaked with a bit of limoncello...…my biking? Well, it got cold and I got lazy. I haven't been riding much, but now that I finally have my own Xtracycle, I hope that will change. But then Meghan went and posted this link which totally freaked me out. What is wrong with people?!
…the ticks? We haven't seen any for a while now. We treatedthe yard with diatomaceous earth and are using natural deterrents on Angel, including feeding her a bit of nutritional yeast every day on the advice of my sweetie's coworker. Now, if we can just keep the loose cats and coyotes out of our yard, maybe we can put off getting those guinea fowl for a while.
Anything else I've left hanging that you want to know about? Just leave me a comment!

Whatever happened to the lemon pickles? The ones you didn't like that much?
What a timely question! I diced some up last night to serve with Indian greens over rice. They added a nice lemony saltiness.
And, to deal with the inevitable next question...no, I haven't done anything with the lemon pulp yet. I figure it should keep a good long time with all that salt in it.
Isn't that daitomaceous earth great?
I don't use it much in Colorado, since we don't have fleas and there are no ticks in our city lot... but I know people in Nebraska who swear by it.
glad the tomato came back after all! think you'll ever get citrused out?
I don't know if the diatomaceous earth stopped the ticks or the overnight freezes we had. We'll see come spring.
Hm, I don't know. I love citrus. My sweetie brought home another mystery citrus yesterday with an incredible fragrance. It doesn't taste so hot, but I think I'm going to try making essential oil with the peel to use as an air freshener.
