The concept of discretionary eating was first introduced in this earlier post. Please review it so that you know what the heck I'm talking about here.
Did you read it yet? Trust me, this challenge will make a lot more sense if you read it. C'mon, it will only take you a couple of minutes to click to it. Then come on back here to sign up.
Thanks. Now, if you'd like to take on this challenge for the month of August, leave a comment after this post. Please specify which categories you'd like to tackle, and please indicate whether you'll be giving 50% or 100% effort for each one.
Note: I plan to have this challenge again in September, so if you need to ease into some of these changes, choose 50% level for August and then bump it up to 100% in September. All participants will be listed in my sidebar. If you'd like me to link to your blog, include your blog URL with your comment.
EDIT: I originally intended to only allow 50% or 100% but several folks that plan to do about 75% and one person asked for 25%. So, I will allow you to select those levels as well. I'd really like folks to aim for at least 50% to make this challenging. However, I understand that the BUZZ category includes physically addictive substances and will be the hardest change. Try to limit the 25% choice to that category only. And, if choosing these other levels, it is up to you to define the criteria for yourself (using the 50% and 100% descriptions as guidelines)!
Choose from these Categories (abbreviations will be used in sidebar)
RESTAURANTS (CAFE)
- Avoid: restaurants, take-out, prepared deli foods, and frozen meals.
- Eat instead: home-cooked meals
- Levels:
50% - home-cooked meals replace at least half of the professionally prepared meals you've been purchasing.
100% - eat only home-cooked meals for the month. Food cooked by family and friends is fine.
REFINED FOOD (other than sweets) (LITE)
- Avoid: highly processed & refined food stripped of its nutrients.
- Enjoy instead: whole foods that are minimally processed.
- Levels:
50% - reduce your current consumption of refined food by at least half.
100% - totally eliminate the refined foods.
SUGAR/SWEETS (SUGAR)
- Avoid: sugary foods & drink (includes honey and agave nectar).
- Enjoy instead: unsweetened foods; whole or unprocessed fruit.
- Levels:
50% - can still use a little sugar in your tea and coffee, some jam on your toast, sweet chutney with your rice, and the rare dessert.
100% - zero added sugars. (Yes, it can be done. Been there, done that.)
SECONDS ONLY WHEN HUNGRY (SOW)
- Avoid: food eaten after physical hunger is satisfied.
- Enjoy instead: only eat as much as you physically need.
- Levels:
50% - limit the pig-outs considerably, paying more attention to what your body really needs.
100% - eat only when hungry and needing "fuel". May result in smaller, more frequent meals.
STIMULANTS (BUZZ)
- Avoid: chocolate, caffeine (coffee, black tea, etc.), alcohol
- Enjoy instead: herbal tea, coffee substitutes, water
- Levels:
50% - cut all of these back by at least half.
100% - cut them out completely. (Get professional help if necessary, especially with alcohol.)
VEGAN (VEG)
- Avoid: eating animal products. This includes eggs, milk, butter, dairy products (cheese, sour cream, ice cream, etc.), and meat (beef, pork, chicken, fish, and any other animal flesh).
- Enjoy instead: any plant foods (grains, beans, vegetables, fruits)
- Levels:
50% - reduce the animal products in your diet by at least half. (You'll save money!)
100% - jump in and give it all up for a month.
THE WHOLE ENCHILADA (ALL)
- For the brave soul who wants to try all the categories at once!
Once you've signed up, you can put the banner in your sidebar by copying the following code:

VeganCowGirl left this link in another comment. The article ties perfectly in with this challenge!
Im in for sugars/sweets and seconds only when hungry. tallgrassworship.bogspot.com
Joyce - 50% or 100%?
I'll do Restaurant/Cafe and SOW - 50% each. Slow starter - hopefully successful.

Oh, yeah, 100%.
This sounds really interesting, I shall go back and read that other post. I'm starting off August at a wedding out of province. Hmmm...not sure what I'd like to give up but I will think about it.
Here is what I am in for:
100% LITE
100% SOW
50% CAFE
WOOT! Bring it on you crazy pepper, bring it on! I feel good about this one! I know, I know. I am way too energized for a Monday morning!
I am so in (thanks for posting directions about the link... I'm still learning this blogger stuff!)!!!
100% LITE
100% SOW
50-75% CAFE (we have many family things this upcoming month and I'd like to be prepared for them)
I'm visiting family this month and have much less control of my meal planning than usual. I'm in for 50% SOW and 50% BUZZ this month, and will look forward to doing more in sept.
How are your solar oven burns doing?
cheers,
kt
Hm, so far SOW is the most popular. We should all learn not to be little piggies!
kt - they are healed, but left little scars that go nicely with all my other little scars from burns, cuts, and scrapes. I mean it when I say I'm a klutz!
I've been pondering what I'm willing to commit to doing. Some of my 50% choices will be running more like 75-90% but since the hostess of this challenge didn't give that option, I'll say 50% because I'm not up for the 100% just yet. In September, I may be more brave and bump it up.
See the sidebar for my wimpy choices.
I am in for SOW, CAFE, LITE, and VEGAN all for 50 percent. All but VEGAN will be more like 80 plus percent but I need a little wiggle room.
Destabee
http://kaleidescopeliving.wordpress.com/
OK, I'm in--but I won't be giving it a fully-committed start until the second week due to a trip the first week.
I guess you can put me down for 50% on all--but here are the official stats:
CAFE--50%, just in case it gets too hot to live here in our uncool house.
LITE--100% (after our trip).
SUGAR--100% (exception: homemade jams made from home-picked fruits).
SOW--100% (except when it comes to blackberries and tomatoes, of course).
BUZZ--50%, to allow for wine on Shabbat and at knitting group as well as a mojito at a community gathering (where I'm serving as the bartender and our mint is in the mix).
VEG--50%. (Maybe 100% next month. Or 100% vegetarian but 50% vegan next month).
Yes, I have to qualify everything and make my excuses. Hm. I never know whether to thank you or curse you for the little insights that I get from these challenges.
http://thepurloinedletter.blogspot.com/
This is such an important challenge Chile -thanks for organizing it. I've tried to diet so many times and the only thing that has even begun to motivate me to eat differently and less is the concept of only eating my fair share, and not wanting what I eat to contribute others going hungry. Please sign me up as follows for this month, I hope to bump it up for September:
CAFE - 50%
LITE - 50%
SUGAR - 50%
SOW - 100%
BUZZ - 50%
VEG - 50%
Purloined Letter - I put you down at 50% for the Sugar because I assume you will be eating the jams you're making. I did the same for myself because I'm making prickly pear syrup and jelly currently. Definitely will be using some on my (small serving of) whole wheat pancakes.
And yes, I understand not knowing whether to curse or thank me. I honestly had intended to try for the whole enchilada at 100%. Wussed out because I don't want to fail miserably. I'm hoping this month will help me transition enough to go up to 100% in more categories, though.
Thanks, Theresa. I'll be talking more about that fair share concept hopefully soon.
OK - here goes:
50% for SUGAR and BUZZ
100% for CAFE, LITE, SOW and VEG
OK, here it goes...
RESTAURANTS (CAFE) 100%
REFINED FOOD (other than sweets) (LITE) 50% - I tend to keep luna bars, etc., on hand in case of reactions...
SUGAR/SWEETS (SUGAR) 100% SECONDS ONLY WHEN HUNGRY (SOW)100%
STIMULANTS (BUZZ)25%
Rjs - I'm trying to avoid having a lot of ranges of levels, but maybe I'm being too strict. I'll add you for 25% BUZZ.
Okay, due to other folks saying they'd actually be doing about 75% and then Rjs request for 25% on the BUZZ category, I'm allowing those levels. I'd really like folks to at least try 50% but I do understand the stimulants are the most physically addictive and will be the hardest to change. (Rjs, I'll be lookin' for you to go to 50% next month, 75% October... *wink*)
I'll adjust Destabee's VEGAN up to 75% and some of mine. Anyone else want adjustments (up)?
Oops, I mean everything but the vegan up to 75% for Destabee. I'm going to go have my 1 small cup of coffee now!
Count Brett and I in for CAFE 100%. Only one exception, Brett and I are going out to eat this Friday (August 1st) for an early celebration of my birthday. Aside from that, no restaurant or non-homemade food will be consumed.
I personally will also sign up for the VEG 100%. I already eat a vegan diet, so I might as well.
Oh, and since the LITE is other than sweets, I can sign up for 50% there too. We eat a lot of tortillas, which are technically processed and refined, and I just do not have time to make my own with a full-time job, but we can cut down in any other areas.
Okay. You are one scary chile! Where do you get these ideas? Anyhow it fits in with my recently declared diet- and there will be no M. sabotoge! I will be strong! I'm in for ALL- but a mix of values.
Cafe- 100% (a bit of a cheat as we only eat out every two months or so)
Lite- 100%
Sugar- 50% (I need sweetened green tea!)
Sow- 100%
Buzz- 50% (I will get ontop of my soda addiction... again)
Veg- 50%
Can we swear in the comments section? Cause I'd like to do so now.
I think my comment didn't go through, sorry if this is twice and hope I'm being consistent.
CAFE -- 100% (except for mandatory office lunch about once a week and a catered picnic on Aug. 1)
SOW -- 100%
SUGAR -- 50%
LITE -- 25% reduction in current
VEG -- vegan lunches at work and one dinner a week (it will be hard to keep the cheese from creeping in, I fear) -- call it 25%
BUZZ -- sorry not for me this month
Chile~Thanks for this nudge to move us all toward eating more healthfully! I'm in for 100% SOW
and 50% sweets. SOW is just common sense; why doesn't our food culture support this? I've already given up sugar in my java, but just can't seem to give up my 1 cup of coffee to start the day. We've got great local fruits on our farm, so that's great!
I'm going to give this a try:
CAFE 100% (with exception for my birthday on the 6th)
SUGAR 50%
SOW 100%
BUZZ 50%
I'm starting a new blog to dedicate to my committment to go green:
greeneonion dot blogspot dot com.
Ok, I'm in for:
100% LITE
100% SOW
50% BUZZ
I'm already vegan, do I sign up for VEG too? Nah, too easy. ;)
I would do 50% CAFE but we have out of town guests literally every weekend the month of August, so that just doesn't seem realistic. Maybe in September!
Count me in for:
CAFE- 100% (already do pretty much 95%)
LITE- 100% (already do this quite a bit too)
SUGAR- 100% (this will be the hard one! I have more of a sweet tooth than I like to admit)
Adrienne, do you have a blog you'd like to list? (Your profile is not "open".)
Chile, I just found this site today, thought you might find it interesting (I haven't really had a chance to look at it): http://www.lovefoodhatewaste.com/
I'm between 75 & 100% in pretty much every category but stimulants (which make me more productive, so I'm not giving them up). But I'd like to get to 100% refined food, and I'm not quite there, so I'll do that. And 100% Only When Hungry - I'm pretty close to that as well, but not there yet.
I assume you don't want me to include the levels where I am already, but you can if you like. In other words, I will also pledge to stick to my guns on these other categories:
75% restaurants
75% sweets
75% vegan (I've been a vegetarian for 19 years, and we don't eat a lot of dairy)
And ok, ok, I'll do 25% fewer buzz drinks.
That was confusing - sorry. In summary:
100% refined food
100% Only When Hungry
75% restaurants
75% sweets
75% vegan (I've been a vegetarian for 19 years, and we don't eat a lot of dairy)
25% fewer buzz drinks
I'm in! Here's what I'm signing up for:
CAFE- 100%
LITE- 50% (I don't eat a lot of processed food now, so a 50% reduction makes it even less!)
SUGAR- 50% (I'm okay with maple syrup and honey staying, but will get rid of the rest)
SOW- 50% (What can I say, I like food. And I also like that the acronym is "sow")
BUZZ- 100% (already don't drink coffee or alcohol, so it's chocolate that will be tough for me)
VEG- 0% (um, vegan's not in my value system...)
I will do:
-100% SOW
-50% CAFE
-50% LITE
This is my first challenge, but I'm up for it.
I will also do 50% buzz
Good reminder. I will do:
75% CAFE (It's not an option, but...)
90% VEG
50% SUGAR (want Popsicle)
100% SOW
Not ready for BUZZ this time around :)
I'm still chuckling about you folks calling me a scary chile or a crazy pepper or wondering whether to curse me or thank me. ;-)
I'm committing to 100% on everything, with one night out (at a wedding) with drinking permitted.
Blogosaurus - congratulations on being the first one with the guts to go ALL the way!
CHilem my mentor, I am afraid I connot do another challenge atr this time- I am completely challenged out- I am sitting here at work eating my homemade potato salad and munching on toast- You girls got me peeing on my garden, sweating profusely, Not buying it, put restaurant owners and diet pop manufacturers out of business,People are questioning my hygene habits and got me growing god knows what. Gawd woman how much more can I take?
I will say this that this and all these challenges are good for the soul- they help you question your current values and help you to see that changes are needed in your lifestyles and purchasing habits.
Change is inevitable! To all the participants I say GodSpeed I am with you in spirit!
Here to make it official. I'm in for:
CAFE - 100%
LITE - 50%
VEG - 50%
I'll be eating out on the 1st for Jennifer's early birthday celebration, and I GUESS I can live without frozen pizzas for ANOTHER month. How many places am I putting out of business? I'm gonna be pissed if - when the challenges are over - my favorite things are no longer there. I guess that's kinda the point though. Just can't say it doesn't suck; I'd be a liar. But I'll do it anyway....
Rob, I'm sorry you won't be joining us. You've been making so many great changes! But, I can understand needing to step back and take a rest, giving the changes a chance to really integrate with your life.
Wet Blanket - man, I sense a little bit of hostility and resentment there. Go have a Jarrito's or latte or something. Oh, wait, you can't do that. Bwuahahaaaaaaaaaa!
Okay, I'm debating leaving out refined foods and SOW (both 50%). The problem is I'm not entirely sure what counts as refined foods. Does white rice? Bread? Because that would be impossible. But does it mean things like premade meals, food mixes, etc.? I mean, my normal meal nowadays seems to be vegetables, rice and tofu. So I could probably cut out refined foods (no kitkats for the month–but for some reason I'm not even tempted by them right now... ice cream either... my appetite is at an all-time low these past few days.)
Looking at the original post, I guess that means white rice is out. I'll keep thinking about it.
I'll sign up... it'll be another week or so before I can be in any comments, though!
I'll do them all; 100% for CAFE and SOW, 75% for LITE and SUGAR, BUZZ (not willing to give up my 1/2 cup of black tea every morning from the pot my husband makes... it would be a waste of another tea bag), and VEG.
How's this? Curse you, fiery Capsicum annuum.
I wish I had a photo of the looks on my kid's faces when I told them we were all taking this challenge! I don't believe I've ever seen their eyeballs pop so far out of their heads.
I am in 100 freakin' percent. (Just me, darn those kids) Unless you are picky about the BUZZ and count my Excedrine addiction. Who knows, maybe all the other changes will help me get over that one..... migraines, ugh.
I will thank you later, after my innards are empty and my wallet is full:)
IB Mommy - I'm not going to count the Excedrin against your eating since it is medication. And I understand migraines. Congrats on taking it all on. Drag those kids along for as much as you can without creating a backlash of resistance. ;-)
Sheesh... confusing me with all this 75%, 25%, 50% stuff. Crap, I hate math. I will keep my numbers the same, even though my CAFE could easily be 75% instead of 50%. That will just give me something to aim for.
If one SUGAR challenger chose 25% and one LITE challenger chose 50% who would have eaten the most crapola after 30 days of the challenge assuming each participate ate 3 meals a day on a1500 calories diet? Who wants to do that math? :oP
OK now you are making me feel guilty about this 25% thing! I wasn't trying to screw up the whole thing, just trying to make myself think about the possibility of someday getting off my diet coke habit. ; )
Don't feel guilty, Rjs. I need to learn flexibility. I just may kick and scream while learning. ;-)
Eco Burbie - No way to do the math because each person is changing from the way they personally eat right now. For some people, cutting back their BUZZ by 50% may mean they now drink only half a cup of coffee per day, while for other people, it may mean they only drink half a pot a day. The idea is to be moving towards eliminating the discretionary eating or at least limiting it to the status of "treats" not regular diet!
OK, so this is my first official challenge, I've done a couple without formally signing up.
I will do 75% on everything.
To me that means I can indulge 1 out of every 4 days in each category. I think that will be easier to keep track of than a percentage amount of each days food. I am going to limit myself that I can't indulge in more than 2 categories in any one day.
Joke, Chile-san, Joke! I was poking fun at the "I'll do 43.78% Sugar" etc. Shoot, I can't remember what I just ate for breakfast this morning, so just keeping track is going to be enough of a challenge, trying to figure if I hit the 50 mark or the 75 mark might make my brain hurt and I will need IB Mommy's Excederin!
CAFE 75%
LITE 75% (more like 90%)
SUGAR 75% (more like 90%)
SOW 100%
BUZZ 75% (more like 90%)
VEG 50%
Thanks for the extra nudge to get us all thinking about what we put in our mouths and why. :)
75% CAFE, 100% LITE, 50% SUGAR, 100% SOW, 50% BUZZ (coffee and booze), 100% VEG
I've been thinking about this challenge a lot since yesterday. I want to make sure I'm being fair to myself and not setting myself up for failure, but also that I'm actually being challenged and that my diet may one day make some difference.
So I think I've figured it out:
75% CAFE
75% LITE
75% SUGAR
100% SOW
100% BUZZ
I REALLY want to do something for the Vegan aspect, but I've been finding that I really need protein (at least eggs and dairy) and soy isn't really an option since it kind of messes with me.
If it was Vegetarian instead of Vegan, I could probably swing it. I just have to consider the calories and nutrition I need for breastfeeding soon! ;)
Thank you, Chile, for these excellent challenges. They make me look at my lifestyle and habits in new ways and find more improvements I can make.
Eco Barbie - joke? JOKE? Oh, okay. hehe
Lesa - got it. Adjusted the original post. Should have thought of that before!
Nomikins - so glad to have you in the game. Everybody - go check out her blog. It's good. Ask her to post more. She's a whiz when it comes to canning, dehydrating, gardening...and more! And she's very nice, too. :)
Long-time lurker, first time challengee. No, I don't have a blog, but I would like to sign up for the challenge anyway.
VEG: 100%
We're lacto-ovo-veg right now but want to be vegan before my son turns one, so this seemed like the best opportunity.
Do I need to check in? If so, how do I do that, through comments?
Thanks so much, Chile!
Krista, welcome out of lurkdom. I'll probably continue with the format of Sunday challenge check-ins. That would be a good place to report your progress, bring up any difficulties or questions, and you can do that in the comments. I hope this month to do more posting about how to cook, eat, camp, travel, and such on a vegan diet. It is definitely trickier than ovo-lacto but not nearly as difficult as one might think.
I'm in, but I'm starting out slow with 50% SOW and 25% Buzz. Next month I'll try adding Cafe and (maybe) Sweets.
Chile, this is a super challenge, but I think realistically, I need to take a challenge break for August.
When I get stressed, I tend to lose my appetite and skip meals. So how about, I promise that I will do my best to stay healthy and eat enough food, and I'll very likely take on this challenge on my own sometime in the near future.
Sorry. It's a great challenge, and I really, really wish I could participate!
Yes, I am certainly an eco-barbie. Long legs, blonde hair, perfect skin and inside my shipping carton you will find carbon credits to balance out all the plastic and petroleum used to create my perfect body. :op
This is my first challenge and this is just the kick in the pants that I needed! Thanks Chile!
Sign me up for
50% CAFE
50% LITE
50% SUGAR
100% BUZZ (yikes! Mornings will be tough!)
100% SOW
I'm going to try and up my percentages next month, but I've got to start small, otherwise I'll just give up and dive head first into an ice cream vat.
Arduous - see you in September maybe? Do take care of yourself during all this moving. You need your energy!
Okay, I'm in for 50% SOW. Arduous's comment really hit me, in that I don't eat enough a lot of the times anyway, which result in bad low blood sugar times. So what I'll work on is having at least 3 meals a day, every day. And only eating enough to keep me full, not more.
Now to make my sidebar big enough for the challenge link. Is it okay to put it up sometime around August 1 rather than right this second?? Oh all right, if I don't do it right this second it'll never get done, you win...
Put me down for CAFE, SUGARS and VEGAN at 50%
Here are my goals:
CAFE- 75%
SOW- 100%
BUZZ- 100%
THIS IS A GREAT IDEA!
I'm in. I've been striving for this recently anyhow, so this makes it easy for me.
100% for these:
(CAFE)
(LITE)
(SOW)
75% (I don't want to have the deprived feeling that comes with cutting out things):
(SUGAR)
Not so much:(BUZZ)
I really don't consume much in this category but recently purchased a secondhand coffeepot (cheaper than running to a coffee shop) because I have migraines every couple weeks that respond to caffeine and IMO coffee is a better alternative than pills or being disabled a handful of days each month.
I only consume caffeine when I have a migraine. No chocolate, alcohol and whatever the other buzz items were.
Almost:(VEG)
I don't consume dairy, beef, chicken or pork but I do consume wild game and eggs sparingly (approx. 1x/week) and find my body functions best in this manner.
I know I didn't respond re: the June challenge but I did participate. However, the hubby purchased popsicles for me post-surgery. Not ice cream, but sort-of.
Okay, Chile, I might have to change my BUZZ to 75% instead of 100%, at least until I'm over my withdrawl symptoms. I haven't had any coffee this morning and I can barely keep my eyes open, let alone work. But the challenge doesn't officially start until Friday, right? Baby steps.
See? I can't even spell "withdrawal" correctly without my cuppa. Not good for an editor...
That's funny - I was setting up a challenge with my sweetie - no packaged food in August, use what you have and no stockpiling.
More eating at home -- only 2 meals a week out, including lunch at work but we can use our weekly credits on each other (ie, he had lunch out twice, but I had none, so I can use mine for us to both go to dinner).
I like the SOW option...
I posted this on the prior post, but perhaps it should go here.
I would like to suggest a possible refinement to the challenge. I just finished listening to "Three Cups of Tea", which I highly recommend.
Several times he referred to "feasts" being prepared for him by extremely - EXTREMELY - poor tribal people he visited, because it would have been taboo not to host visitors with the best that you could muster up.
We have mostly lost the habits of communal meals, and getting together with friends and neighbors for dinners. Instead those "special treats" are now daily indulgences usually carried out in private, rather than celebrations that cement ties between community members.
In a post-peak world we will need to re-establish those community ties. So... what if the challenge was to give up "discretionary eating" UNLESS such "feasts" are offered to forge or strengthen ties within the community [i.e. have neighbors or church members or co-workers over for a dinner].
Challenge yourself. If you want that chocolate cake with some fair trade coffee, invite someone over to share it with. Maybe even make a weekend night a "feast" day and make a point of inviting a family or two over that you have never eaten with before. Gives you an opportunity turn the chatting to the economy, peak oil, etc. Might find a new ally.
This is a great challenge! I found this from Veg*n Cooking and Other Random Musings today. Just in time.
I am in for: 100% Veg, 50% Seconds only when hungry and 50% sugar/sweets.
I haven't joined you on any of your previous challenges, but this is exactly what I need right now. I first found your blog through the McDougall message board, so as a former strict McDougaller, these ideas are nothing new for me. Getting back to following them will be a bit of a challenge for the first few days, but once I get back in the swing of things, I know I'll feel fantastic. Sign me up 100% for the whole enchilada!
Sign me up for:
CAFE: 50%
SOW: 100%
VEG: 100%
I will work on those, and then probably try to up it next month!
CAFE - 100% (except when at drill for the National Guard)
LITE - 50%
SUGAR - 100%
SOW - 100%
BUZZ - 100%
VEG - 50%
I'm sure gonna miss honey and tea!
Linda, I appreciate what you shared but I intentionally chose August because it is a month with no national holidays to inspire feasting. Yes, I agree that a celebratory "feast" can be a good thing, but many people "feast" all the time. The habit must be broken thoroughly before starting to plan for community feasts.
It is way too easy to set up exceptions to the rules that will then allow people to rationalize not sticking to the challenge. For instance, if I'm allowed to eat rich foods only when company visits, believe me, I'll be inviting everybody I know over and hope that I can get them to come every single day!
For the first month, at least, it needs to stay as outlined. By the time we get to Thanksgiving, I'll probably revisit the issue.
Thanks again for sharing the importance of community. Now let's look at how we can form community without centering on food. Discussions about peak oil, climate change, and needed changes can be held while walking together to a garden center, taking a nature walk, or meeting for a bike tour of the local farms.
Carolyn - do you want a link to your blog? (The profile isn't accessible.)
Okay...first time to read and comment. I think I am going to give this a try...
50% on everything but the SOW and CAFE, there I am in for 100%.
Waste has been on my mind so much lately, and I want to eliminate it from my life...great way to start! Thanks for the challenge! Pattyj
Oh, my. I really thought about this one. I think my relationship with food is messed up.
50% cafe- we'll eat out only once per week
50% lite- no more cheddar bunnies
Restaurants - 50%
Sugar/Sweets - 50% (i just gotta have my freezer jam on toast every morning)
Vegan - 100% (is that cheating since i'm already vegan?)
thanks!
maybe next month i'll work on SOW.
Chile thanks, but my blog is pretty non existent so I have it private out of shame. Hopefully that'll change in August. And I've decided to go 100% on LITE as well. But you don't have to update the sidebar if you don't want. Thanks!
Cafe 100%
Lite 50%
Sugar 50%
SOW
Buzz 50%
Veg 50%
Not eating out will be the toughest part of the challenge, but I think we are up to it.
Wendy
Got tied up in work stuff and forgot to sign up. Chile, could you add me at the following levels, please?
100% SOW and CAFE
75% SUGAR
50% VEGAN
Thanks, and thanks for hosting such an awesome challenge.
Cheers,
Karen
Wendy - I put you down for 100% on the SOW. Is that what you want?
Hi, Chile -
Sign me up (please) for:
Cafe - 50%
Lite - 100% (already do this to some extent)
Sugar - 50% (my uber-weakness)
SOW - 100% (should be able to conquer this one no prob)
Thanks for bringing me back in the vicinity of my senses... :)
Lady Banksia - would you like me to link to your blog? And, should I assume from your name that you like banksia roses? :)
Thank you again for this Chile
Cafe - can't do this month as I'm on holiday with friends but definitely in September
Lite - 75% this month, 100% next
Sugar - 75% even on holiday this is possible, 100% next
SOW - 100% again possible on holiday
Buzz - 25% this is for wine as the caffeine has gone now
Veg - I failed on this last month and have little chance for August but I will tackle it in September
