Bee Eater

In some parts of the world, a bee eater is incredibly gorgeous.

In my yard, the colors are less vibrant.

Don't care. Your yard is warmer. Bee eaters are BAD. Need bees. Love bees. Bees, good; bee-eater, bad. Sufficient to have picture on wall to fulfill my need of beauty.

I'm so glad you posted this--I needed a good laugh.

Yeah, it's black and brown/brindle here and probably about the same proportions.

Kind Regards

I don't want Polie to eat the bees but can't get him to stop. It may be time to get a water squirter toy. I think he has been stung on the tongue at least once.

But you have to admit, it's good exercise for Polie and huge entertainment for his humans. At least, it is for us watching our Vizsla do the same thing. Thankfully he is not too successful actually catching them.

Yes, but....we need bees to pollinate the garden. Polie got at least 5 bees today while we were working outside. I'd rather he went after flies. ;-)

Argh! We have to stop Polie from eating the bees. They are irritating his throat, which leads to hacking during the night. It may also be why he occasionally throws up in the night.

Saturday night/Sunday morning was bad for him after he had taken down (and possibly eaten) at least 5 bees while we worked outside. :(
