Finally!

After what seemed like an eternity, the offer we made on a house was accepted this evening. We hope to close before the end of the month and then we will, finally, have our own place. A place where we can collect rainwater. A place where we can work to improve the soil over the years and grow a big garden. A place where we can set up solar cooking, a cob oven, and the rocket stove. A place of our own.

We're exhausted now after several sleepless nights wondering what was taking so long for the seller to make a decision. So, no more details tonight ... but no more suspense at my news!

Thanks. I'll give more details over the weekend when I have rested up.

thetinfoilhatsociety - you can email me, if you want, since we live in the same state and might actually meet one day.

Omigod! That's so awesome! I'm squealing and doing a happy dance for you ... my husband is looking at me like I'm daft (which I may be, but ...).

Yay! Congratulations!

Congratulations! It's always so exciting at the beginning of a new venture -- but, when two people face the same venture, it's a world of miracles. Happy back-breaking next few months!

Congratulations,

I imagine it's a real relief to have that over and done with. It seems lots of people are finding their "place" this year and it's wonderful to see.

Kind Regards

Thank you, thank you! 'Course we haven't actually closed yet so I'm still dealing with a bit of anxiety.

And totally overwhelmed at all the work to do - not just on the property but the actual move!

And, unfortunately, Beany and katecontinued, this likely means a trip to Cali is not going to happen. Funds and time will be tight as we struggle to get the things done we'd have liked to have done a year ago. :(

Chile, I'm not planning on going anywhere soon. And it sounds like Beany is loving San Diego too much to be leaving either. We'll be here. Get settled, make some scratch and mosey over when it's time.

You'd be no fun at all right now anyway. I'm sure you'd be climbing out of your pants waiting to get your hands on your new place. Enjoy - even the big task of it all.

Today was my 5th anniversary of starting my home remodel. I started tearing apart this little trailer 5 years ago. The task seemed insurmountable.

What Kate said. I am loving San Diego too much to even think of moving. Plus this wonderful community I've found here makes it hard to leave anyway. So the offer to visit is still open for when you do decide to visit.

Kate - you're right; I'd be lousy company right now. As it is, I'm driving my sweetie nuts with wanting everything done now.

Beany, too - I'm glad you'll both be right next door for a while; hopefully I can make it over there sometime. 'Course ya'll are welcome to come visit me. I won't necessarily have more space inside but I will outside. :)

If I lived in San Diego, I don't think I'd be in a hurry to leave there either!

chile, I know you're anxious to get going on the move and stuff and then maybe you'll want to do everything before the heat gets here! but you just take it in measured steps and you'll get it all done. I'm saying this because I'd want to get it all done at once then I tent to injure myself, banged elbows, fingers and a wrenched knee.

I'm just saying, may you close on the deal quickly.

peace, Shamba
