From your perspective as a reader of this blog, I know it doesn't look like much is going on here. But trust me, there is a beehive of busy activity behind the scenes. We're slogging our way through the mountain of paperwork and bureaucracy involved with buying a home; we're packing for the move; we're making plans for the new place - initial minor repairs needed, how to arrange the rooms, where to put the bikes, how to deal with floodplain issues, etc.; and we're keeping up with our regular lives, as well.

I'd love to post more, but I need to go pack up all our books now. The dogs are getting confused by the stacks of boxes springing up in the middle of every room. By moving the books and the bookshelf up to the storage unit, we'll free up a small area to stack packed boxes against a wall.

Mazel tov on the purchase of your new nest. Enjoy making it your own. One's own home is, at once, shelter, palette, and investment.
Oh, I am right with you! Having just moved, and now facing a city of boxes in our garage, not having time to blog is completely understandable!
Take it easy. You'll be back online when you can. And put your feet up - you deserve it!
It's alright. Fully understand. Just focus on your nesting and keep us up-to-date with a note, here and there. We'll be here when you're ready to go full guns, again.
Oh, when you're done, you can come help me get some things moved.
we too are in the thick of it. buying our first home, learning the lingo (escrow anyone?), and packing/purging/dealing with a very confused dog(:
cheers comrad(:
I remember those packing days and not being able to find things. Hope you find time to stop for a rest! Glad you have your new nest!
Moving- it's right up there with teeth pulling. But it's good to get into a new place.
Hey, just post when you can. You're already doing a lot as it is, i think.
Happy Moving!
peace, Shamba
Having moved way too many times in the last few years, I understand COMPLETELY. I'm so happy for you!!!!
Waitress - thanks! It is first and foremost an investment in our future. The shelter is also important. The palette part, or rather the changing thereof, may have to be on the back burner for a while until we get all the homesteading type stuff done. :)
Daharja - oh yeah! I'd rather be blogging than packing, though...
Sharlene - haha! Nope, not gonna go help anyone else move for awhile. I'll need a break! Plus, the travel expenses to get me there would be rather high... ;-)
Haus - based on what little we know of our two dogs' past history, we suspect neither has ever gone through a move. They are not happy about the boxes in their way!
Callie - haven't gotten to the stage of not being able to find stuff, but heading there...
Rob - I'm out of practice so it seems harder this time.
Shamba - you have no idea. I really should be skipping sleep but I just can't bear to.
Melinda - Can you beat 12 moves in 14 years? And that's not counting stuff in and out of storage between cross-country moves. Yeesh, I married a nomad...
