My Brain's Gonna Explode!

Call the zombies, I think my brain's gonna explode! So many details to think through, so many lists to keep track of, so much packing left to do...

Things are getting ticked off the master list, however, and we hope to be moved into the new place within a week. I can't wait to be able to sit in the kitchen, watching the hawks soar and laughing at the roadrunner's antics in the yard. I can't wait to wake up to the sound of roosters crowing. I can't wait to sit on the front porch and breath in the earthy smell of horse manure.

And I can't wait to not be a renter anymore. I will not miss that. Being a homeowner is not a piece of cake; you're responsible for fixing, or not, every little thing that breaks. But, you can fix the place up the way you want, doing outlandish remodeling if desired. (Hm, maybe I should look at the discarded paint today at the hardware store for some fun colors...)

Okay, that's a long enough break. Dreaming comes later. I need to get back to packing. I'd rather get back to sleeping, but my "normal" wake-up time now seems to be about 3:15 am.

Remember to stop and smell the chocolate from time to time (or whatever floats your innertube).

Does inhaling "brownie bites" count? 'Cuz if it does, I'm covered! :)

I'm so happy for you! It is glorious when you own your own. Have fun. Happy Easter. Here's a virtual cup of hot cocoa and a few Krispy Kremes. (No, they're not organic -- but, it's EASTER!)

Best of luck! I'm excited for you guys and your home-owning adventure. And be sure to post pics of those outlandish paints, mkay?

Chile, I responded to you over on Risa's blog, but wanted to tell you here too.

Google Earth, the satellite part, is awesome for seeing the wash patterns on your property. You can build swales and berms, and even a catch basin if desired.

You're moving really quickly, only a week or so after you closed, it seems. However, you've been planning this for a long time so the whole process is probably going very smoothly although it may not seem like it at this moment!

yes, brownie bites count. :)

Congrats again. Moving and packing sucks, but it is so worth it now that you will no longer be a renter.

Its that antsy 'I wanna leave now but I can't cos theres too much to do but I wanna be there anyway' thing.

Happens every time!

Hope you get some interesting colours. My sis is just painting her kitchen pale lime green and I made a table runner like a pond for her crazy glass table - hope she likes it :)

Good luck Ms Chile!

It is everything you said. Wonderful and hard and frustrating and exciting.

This Spring our orange tree is blooming so profusely. For the life of us we can't remember it blooming at all last year, but it may be delayed due to the cold winter.

We just open the doors and let in the scent of the blossoms... it's amazing.

And it's ours. :-)

<3 you!

I'm glad to see that things are working out for your new house. I know what a long haul it has been. Moving is a pain, but it will be totally worth it once you are in your own house.

I loved the "power of the pig" story!
