Being a part of the online community has exposed me to a wide range of people, ideas, and viewpoints from around the world. I've shared commenting relationships with many other bloggers, corresponded with some - by email and snail mail, and even had the pleasure of meeting a handful in person. Whether I've met them in person or not, I count quite a few bloggers among my friends.
The past three years have seen a lot of changes in my life, and my writing often reflected these changes. I'm in the midst of a big change again, settling into our new home and making it a more user- and earth-friendly place to live. I hope you'll stick with me for however long I keep blogging, no matter what I choose to share.
You are, of course, free to leave at any time. If you do decide to leave - to quit reading my blog, please complete the following exit interview.
If you are not leaving, you can still answer the questions just for fun. After all, I am here for you as much as I am for myself, and my job is to amuse, educate, and inspire you.

I'm not leaving your blog. I did the homework, but my dog ate it...come visit when you can...
Chile,
Funny you should ask this - I'm back after having taken a major break from reading blogs - I quit cold turkey since my life was getting too stressed out and I was spending way too much time on the computer - it was nothing personal but I feel a bit badly that I didn't tell anyone I was going. I've decided to let a few blogs back, and yours is one of them. Probably won't comment too often since I am still trying to limit my time on the computer, but I'll be reading. Congrats on your new home.
I am here for the entertainment, amusement, education, enlightenment, and many other positive reasons I can't name specifically at this time....and probably won't attempt to name later! I look on the green phone booth blog every day and am happy when there is an update listed for your blog (I like having the green phone booth as a central start point for my daily reading fix).
Have a wonderful day, Miss Chile. I hope you keep sharing your sense of humor for a long time to come!
Gosh, I don't even know how I started reading your blog. But I think I've been reading it for about ...um....three years!
Not about to exit though. Sorry to disappoint you.
Hmmm...now you've got me thinking. How long have I been blogging for?
[checks]
First post - Monday 28 May 2007. Yep. Nearly 3 years :-)
SNAP!
Take care. You're totally worth reading!
HI JAM!!!!
Sorry for yelling- COngrats on 3 years. Glad to have been a reader for two of them! Not going anywere either
Dear Chile -- You're the best in the Southwest, and I don't know how you manage to be both H*O*T and >Cool> at the same time! But you are, and I enjoy your life's adventures that you share so generously with the rest of us.
I learn a lot from you.
You're also a superb writer with the gift of tightly vivid imagery that naturally invites us close by to think and ponder, perhaps even adapt similarly.
Your blog, your message, along with your vision of the future on the home front are important.
Congratulations on your blogging milestone, and best wishes to you and your Great Sweetie (and Precious Pooches, too!) as you anchor your lives in your new place.
Thank you for the ongoing inspiration. I'm sticking around with the rest of the gang!!
Warm regards,

I positively, absolutely refuse to leave. I like this place. I think I've been around a couple of years or maybe a bit longer.
No Impact Man has a lot to answer for - it was his site that got me into blogging although my own blog does tend to languish for months on end. I do exist on another blog though so try artfibredunedin.blogspot. Then you can see some of what I get up to :)

I have been reading for just over 2 years, I think. I am always happy to see a new post from you.
Congratulations on 3 years.
Nope, not leaving. We love your blog. It is nice to have another blogger in the South, just two states away from me. I'm in Texas.
Congratulations on your three years of blogging Chile! I just love how you tell it like it is. I haven't been around as much as before, just because life changes, but I always pop in now and then to see what Chile is Chewing on. All the best in your new home!
Some death and destruction perhaps....?
Sharlene - sure it did. I've heard that excuse before. I do try to visit every now and then. I'll tell you a secret: when I look at the first few lines in my reader and you solar-cooked a totally not-vegetarian meal, I don't go look. No reflection on you; I just don't want to read how tender the roast came out...
JAM - HI JAM! Sorry, Rob and I are excited to see ya. :)
I used to read dozens (and dozens) of blogs per day plus keep up with at least one discussion board. No more. I simply don't have time. The best I can do now is check my reader, filled with a whole lot of blogs that I am following, regularly and pick and choose a few to read each day.
Michelle - I will do my best to keep up the entertainment factor. I had a rant going in my head earlier today but don't have the energy to bring it to the blog.
Daharja - same with me. I know the first "blog" that I read, the one that got me going, but can't really pinpoint how I stumbled across all the good ones out there in my sidebar now.
Hey, by checking on your starting date, you can do an anniversary post on time...instead of a day late (and a dollar short).
Rob - if you keep coming back here, I'll have to sick Polie - the half German Shepherd dog - on Romeo! Actually, Angel would be worse. Her gas is vile.
Danielle - thank you so much for the very kind words. I'll have to catch up with you at the CSA sometime.
Viv - every time I see your name pop up here, a smile comes to my face. Why is that? The apple adventures, maybe?
Anonymous - thanks!
Two Vegan Boys - yeah, we southerners have to stick together. Those snowbound bloggers always try to take over in the winter!
Theresa - always a pleasure to see you, too. I'm glad someone likes that I "tell it like it is." That's not always been a quality that endears me to others. I had one boss tell me, "I love that you are so literal," but I knew she didn't really. Love it, I mean. Don't tell me one thing when you mean another. Sheesh.
Nova - Ha! It took me a few seconds to figure out what your comment meant. Yes, I have been chewing on death and destruction lately. Thank "Glod", I'm almost done. I think I need to go read some sweet, sappy stuff for a while. Little Women, maybe. Little House on the Prairie, perhaps.
To everyone else, inside joke there...soon to be revealed to all.
I mean it alright :) The world is so full of pretense, it really needs to be hosed down with reality on a regular basis -thanks for doing that!
Oh Romi just looks at me and says "I Can't stand German Shepards... Big heads and their paws smell of cabbage". But maybe angel smells of cabbage, since you say her gas is vile!
Good heavens, it's too much trouble to answer all those exit questions! I guess I'm staying!
Peace, shamba
People come and go. I have been blogging since the early NINETIES and readership has rolled over about six times, I think.
Per your interview, I'm always here but don't comment often, mostly because I'm out in the sticks modeming at 28K and blogger likes to crash at that speed when one tries to comment. So I go out and hunt for eggs instead. ;)
Hey JAM! Glad you're back. Missed seeing you around bloggerville.
And Congratulations Chile! Here's hoping to more.
What is your primary reason for leaving? N/A.
Did anything trigger your decision to quit reading this blog? N/A.
What did you like about this blog? I find your writing style very entertaining, and I appreciate that while you're open and forthcoming about both veganism and environmentalism, you're not judgey about others who aren't vegans and/or environmentalists (such as myself, though sometimes my frugal ways strongly mimic both). That, actually, is one of the things I find most endearing about you.
What did you dislike about this blog? Not enough recipes. ;)
Are the blogger's attempts to be funny successful or annoying? I'm not good at figuring out when people are trying to be funny, but I do find your writing entertaining.
What improvements would you suggest for this blog? More recipes, also more information about food preservation.
Did your duties as a reader turn out to be as you expected? Lol, I have no idea what that means.
Were you happy with your pay, benefits and other incentives to read this blog? Oh lol. Yes I am; I even won a book!
Did any blog policies or procedures make being a reader or leaving comments more difficult? Lol, I have no idea what that means either. :)
Did you receive sufficient feedback about your comments? Yep.
Did this blog help you to fulfill your reading goals? I'm lame - I have no reading goals.
What improvements would you suggest for the management and organization of this blog? Nothing I can think of.
Based on your experience with this blog, what do you think it takes to succeed as a blogger? Consistency.
What do your new reading choices offer that this blog doesn't? This blog isn't on paper. :)
Would you consider reading this blog again in the future? Naturally, since I'm not leaving.
Would you recommend this blog to your friends or family? Indeed.
Can this blogger do anything to encourage you to stay? Not so much, really, since I'm not going anywhere.
Do you have any tips to help me find your reading replacement? Yes. You could arrange with my professors for blog-reading to count in place of textbook reading. Then I wouldn't always be so behind on my blog reading.
Do you have any other comments? Congrats on your blogiversary!
Hey Chile, congrats on 3 years! Sorry I don't stop by as much as I used too ... work has eaten up much of my life anymore! :(
Oh no! I feel like I need to take the exit interview as I have bowed out of a LOT of blog reading in the last few months. And here I think of you and see you've got an interview as if just for people like me. You seem to think of everything!
also took a major cold turkey break from blogs ... and am returning after completely quitting Facebook cold turkey. I have a ton of projects to finish up before my cross country trip (which will take me through Arizona on my return in the 2nd week of August)
Theresa - thanks.
Rob - thanks for making me smile.
Shamba - yeah, sometimes it's easier that way.
Risa - the readership has shifted over the years, based on the comments. Unlike the first year or so, I am no longer totally obsessed with checking my stats. I go months without looking at them.
Sorry to hear the slower connection makes it so hard to comment. But...eggs are good. :)
Beany - thanks! There will be more. Three years more, I don't know.
Allie - thanks so much for taking the time to do the survey! More recipes and food preservation are only possible once I'm cooking and preserving more food. LOL
Robbie - thanks. Work sucks.
Stephanie - ha! Gotcha. :)
Jenn - thankfully I never got caught up in that scene, nor twitter or any of the others. Major time suck, I suspect.
Good luck completing all your projects and hope I might get a chance to meet you if you come through my area!
