Desert broom. Baccharis sarothroides. An evergreen shrub of the desert's sandy floodplains. Plants are male or female, blooming in the fall and attracting lots of insects and butterflies. Verdins and Cactus wrens gather the seed fluff for their nests.
Dangnation! I started sneezing with the first pix... Must be quite a site to see a field of these... thanks for sharing something I would have never seen in my backyard... Come visit when you can...
