This log was inspired by Peak Oil Hausfrau's Sun Oven Journal. Using a solar oven requires being more organized and planning your cooking ahead of time. This page contains a list of the food cooked in my solar ovens for almost two years. It is no longer updated, although I continue to cook with the sun. I hope this list helps inspire you to do some solar cooking of your own.
I use a Sun Oven and a hybrid Tulsi Solar Cooker. After the initial investment, using these ovens is free and keeps the house cooler in the summer. They are available from a number of different vendors online. I purchased my SunOven more than a decade ago from Real Goods and got the Tulsi in 2008 from EarthEasy.
In the spring of 2010, I was given The Sunlight Cooker by a friend. I'm not sure whether these are still available but, as far as I can tell, it was made in Arizona. See the link for a picture and description.

Our yard gets only about 4 hours of total sun in the winter thanks to trees in my yard and the neighbors' yards. If I'm not organized and ready to cook by 10 am, I don't have enough time to get anything completely solar-cooked. It's also been cloudy quite often for the past month. My solar ovens are getting dusty. :(
